True Fellowship and Then Some

True Fellowship and Then Some

Acts 2:44-47 gives a unique picture of the early church: "And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity-- all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved." (NLT) "True fellowship," someone once said, "is more than mere "hello-ship." Fellowship, Koinonia in the Greek, is deep, transparent, empathetic, heart-to-heart, Spirit-birthed building up of one another in what? Love. Encouragement. In this most holy faith. True fellowship sometimes leaves our shoulders wet with someone else's tears. True fellowship often causes someone to alter a course that would've been terribly detrimental. Likewise, true fellowship may put someone on a more redemptive path or a more fruitful journey. Most importantly, true fellowship finds Jesus our Lord at the very center of it all...
