The Light of the World Obliterates the Darkness!

The Light of the World Obliterates the Darkness!

John 1:9-14 says: "The true Light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." But then the Messiah, the Light of the World, came. The prophets of old foretold it. And how did Christ come? Quietly and subtly. He wasn't born in a palace or temple but in a stable where His first bed was a feeding trough. No trumpets. No parades. No fanfare. Except... In fields nearby on the night of Jesus' birth, shepherds kept watch over flocks of sheep. Then an angel interrupted those dark fields followed by an angelic choir in glorious splendor declaring: "Glory to God in the highest!" Light broke into that Bethlehem night. It was just a hint of what was to come by the life and love and sacrifice from this One long promised--the Light of the World--Jesus Christ our Lord...
