The Victory of All Victories
Revelation 12:10-11 says: "And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death." (ESV) Satan watched with glee as Jesus was betrayed. The devils jeered triumphantly as our Lord was spat upon, mocked, and had his back shred wide open. They glared pridefully as the Chosen One was nailed to that shameful cross. But did Satan and his minions see our sins imputed to this Perfect Spotless Lamb, this only Son of God? Did they see our Redemption unfolding behind their premature celebration? When Jesus rose up from the dead, all the cheering shifted to heaven's side as man's sin was paid for by the Son of the Most High God! Triumph like none ever was achieved! Satan was humiliated, defeated, and cast down! And we former slaves received adoption as sons & daughters, never to experience second death, granted instead Life forevermore in the blissful presence of our victorious Savior and Lord. It was indeed the Victory of All Victories!
