“Wow, Woe, & Woo-hoo”

“Wow, Woe, & Woo-hoo”

Beginning with what many scholars believe was a creedal hymn in the early church, Colossians 1:15-23 reveals three very important dynamics of the Gospel message.  We begin with the preeminent glory of Jesus Christ, God the Son, and we see His pre-incarnate days as Creator of all things seen and unseen.  Next we see the horrible state of fallen man, our alienation, hostility, and enmity towards God our Maker.  But then we see just how magnificent God’s rescue is as He sends His Son to bring forth reconciliation through His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead.  When we are able to see just how wide the chasm was and just Who it was that came to save us, our lives should never be the same again.
