From Tree of Death to Tree of Life

From Tree of Death to Tree of Life

Galatians 3:13 says: "But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When He was hung on the cross, He took upon Himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” (NLT) That same verse from the Message Bible: reads "Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into Himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse." (MSG) The cross represents God's justice and His love. Both were accomplished at the cross. Both were satisfied there. The tree of death leads to the Tree of Life. Either judgment for your sin has already taken place on that bloody tree, or you'll face God's judgment at the Great White Throne. 1 Peter 2:24 affirms: "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed." (ESV) Has your disease of sin been cured? Your answer matters. May the Lord speak into your heart this very day: "Be healed!"
