Pride and Humility

Pride and Humility

Jesus taught that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted" (Luke 18:14b). James says "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). Pride is at the root of every sin, whereas humility is the ultimate goal of our sanctification. The believer, with the help of the Holy Spirit, should be on a relentless pursuit to eliminate all pride from his or her life, because pride is an attempt to steal the glory that belongs to God alone. What are the signs of pride and humility in a Christian's life?
