He's Wild You Know!

He\'s Wild You Know!

In C.S. Lewis' allegorical book, The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe, the chief character is a Lion named, Aslan. Clearly Aslan represents Christ with all His Messianic qualities. In a very poignant exchange between the inquisitive child, Lucy and Mr. & Mrs. Beaver, their discussion about Aslan goes like this: "He's wild, you know. Not like a tame lion.” “Then He isn’t safe?” said Lucy. "Safe?" said Mr. Beaver; "Don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course He isn't safe. But He is good. He's the King, I tell you." When we talk about the attributes of our Triune God, we immediately must understand Him as absolutely holy and absolutely sovereign. One God manifested in three persons. All powerful, all knowing, all present, and purely holy. He's immoveable and unstoppable. He's incapable of sin or error or fallacy of any kind. He's always right and never wrong. He is absolutely just and His wrath is blamelessly justifiable. His mercy and severity are both delivered with unblemished perfection. He always knows what He's doing even when it confounds us or takes us by surprise. To fear Him is "the beginning of wisdom.” His love towards us is likewise fierce and unfathomable. And so yes, it's fair to say, "He's wild you know!"
