Ephesians 1:3 says: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places..." (ESV) And then the next eleven verses, a single sentence doxology in the original Greek, describe those rich, amazing, incomprehensible, blessings. Some of them include being sovereignly chosen by God before the foundation of the world; being ransomed from sin and death as enemies and not only made friends of God, but His very own children--children who will share in the inheritance of Christ Jesus our Lord; and, being filled with and sealed by the Holy Spirit, who ushers us to the fruition of all these wonderful blessings, both now and in eternity to come. Discovering who we are in Christ should change everything. The more we gain some comprehension of this on the inside, the more it should effect us on the outside. If we were once not IN HIM but have been made to be IN HIM--it changes everything! From spiritual orphans to God's beloved children--from what we once were to what we are now--in Christ. And with every spiritual blessings included! All glory to His name!
