Who's In Charge? Dare We Trust Him?

Who's In Charge? Dare We Trust Him?

Isaiah 40:28-31 says: "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." (ESV) Isaiah made many prophecies with promises of redemption. Most of these were made to Israel but some included surrounding nations. Ultimately Isaiah's words were for us too. And while God admonished His people about putting their trust in princes, He also promised a Prince who would be King, One on whom we all might place our trust, One who would triumph in a way never imagined. In Colossians 1:19-20, Paul declares how the Prince of Peace purchased our peace: "God was pleased that all His fullness should forever dwell in the Son who, as predetermined by God, bled peace into the world by His death on the cross as God’s means of reconciling to Himself the whole creation--all things in heaven and all things on earth." (VOICE) Nothing should remedy our weariness, renew our strength, and sustain our waiting more than this!
