Our Father's Wisdom and Love

Our Father's Wisdom and Love

Proverbs 3:1-5 says: "My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." (ESV) While our first inclination might be to hear those words as written by Solomon, they're better heard as words directly from our heavenly Father who has adopted us His own children. In our spiritual poverty, we are scarcely able to comprehend our Father's immense love for us. Ephesians 1:4-5 declares it this way: "Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure." (NLT) And that summation just about says it all...
