Thy Words Were Found

Thy Words Were Found

Matthew 7:24-25 are Jesus' words from the Sermon on the Mount: "Everyone then who hears these words of Mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." (ESV) Jesus' brother echoed similarly in James 1:22: "Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." (NIV) The essence of genuine faith is one birthed by God's Word, through the power of His Holy Spirit, resulting in internal transformation that outs itself in love-driven obedience, joy-driven worship, and a voice that can't stop talking about it! Someone once said, "If your faith hasn't changed you, neither has it saved you!" Words so true! Jeremiah 15:16 is the prayer the weeping prophet prays, one we all can hopefully pray for ourselves: "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts." (KJV) Yay and Amen and Amen some more....
