CloseThe story of Christ's coming, God the Son being born in a Bethlehem barn, never gets old. That first Christ-Mass was sparsely attended, just Mary and Joseph and a few neighboring shepherds. In Luke's second chapter, the story is wonderfully told. But then we have the Why of Jesus' coming and that's actually the more important story. Many Scriptures, from both testaments, clearly articulate the Why. Galatians 4:4-7 is among them when it says: "But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the [regulations of the] Law, so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family]. And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave (bond-servant), but a son; and if a son, then also an heir through [the gracious act of] God [through Christ]." (Amplified) May you be warmed by the Story of What but may you personally own and be transformed by the Story of Why! Have a Very Blessed Christmas!
