CloseJesus offers a generous and loving invitation to all who would come to Him. He promises that He is gentle and lowly in heart, and to those who come He promises rest. But not all will lay down their burdens and exchange their heavy yoke for His that is light and easy (Matthew 11:28-30). His promise is one that seems too good to be true. Why do some turn away? In His discussion with the Pharisee, Nicodemus, Jesus gives the answer. Those who will not believe in Him prefer the darkness to the light because their works are evil. Is it really that cut and dry? What about those who seem, by outward appearances, to be moral and upright...but they still refuse to follow?
