CloseIn his first epistle, the Apostle Peter proclaims the church is "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession." (1 Peter 2:9) In the verse immediately preceding, he indicates the thing separating God's people from unbelievers is their obedience to the Word. The Word of God is how we, the church, know about God's requirements for holy living and about how Jesus Christ came to save those who believe. To be People of the Book, we must accept God's word as inspired, inerrant, and infallible. We must believe it is completely relevant for our lives today.
