Our Maker Dwelt Among Us

John 1:14 says: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." (ESV) That He dwelt among, pitched His tent in the front yards of humankind, can be summed up beautifully in the name, Immanuel. God came to be with us and He did so to make us His very own children and grant us eternal life. John 17:3 then says as Jesus prays: "And this is eternal life, that they know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (ESV) That is why the Maker of Life, God the Son--very God of very God, came and dwelt among us! It is good that we celebrate His incarnation and declare with angels and shepherds and all mankind: "Fear not, for behold, I (we) bring you good news of great joy that will be (is indeed) for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10-11 ESV with words in italics mine.)
