Many we know find themselves in a season of wrestling with major difficulties. Facing grave illnesses, potential job loss, financial struggles, marital strife, breakups and strained relationships, loved ones serving in harm’s way, and a whole host of other looming challenges, does the Word of God hold out hope for us? Not only does it hold out hope, it actually gives us profound reasons why Thanksgiving is very much in order, despite our circumstances. Our text begins with Paul reminding us that we are God’s chosen people, holy, and dearly loved. As believers, those realities alone should cause our hearts to be deeply grateful. But then he goes on to give us even more reasons to be thankful no matter what...
