Keep Yourselves in the Love of God

Keep Yourselves in the Love of God

When we come through a rough year or perhaps a long and difficult season, sometimes a word from The Word helps tremendously. A cling-to type word is sometimes a good way to bring closure to one year or season as we prepare for the next. And sometimes this is true within the span of a single day! Perhaps Jude 1:20-25 will be such a word for you: "But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." (ESV) As you read those verses over and over, you'll realize God's got His part and you've got your part. God will be absolutely faithful with His part. So will you be faithful with yours? May God's grace help keep us all in His love, even while we're waiting upon His mercy...
