Idols of Old & Idols of Now

Idols of Old & Idols of Now

In Isaiah 46:12-13, God Himself declares to His idolatrous children: "Listen to Me, you stubborn of heart, you who are far from righteousness: I bring near My righteousness; it is not far off, and My salvation will not delay; I will put salvation in Zion, for Israel My glory." (ESV) Hear it again: "I bring near My righteousness.." What's God ultimately alluding to? The righteousness that God the Father will bring near is a Person, God the Son, Jesus the Christ! The Apostle of love puts it like this in 1 John 2:1-2: "My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ the Righteous One. He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world." (CSB) Considering Almighty God and all that His Son has accomplished on our behalf, does anything or anyone deserve a higher place in our minds and hearts than God?
