CloseThe proverbial saying from the 1500's still rings true: "Oh but for the grace of God, go I." Paul, in his stern letter to the Galatians, reminds the church to extend love to those who have been caught up or entangled in various transgressions in order to restore them. The Scriptures are full of stories where God brings about restoration to His fallen sons and daughters and it is impossible to emulate our Lord and not do the same. We know the greatest demonstration of Love that ever took place was Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, absorbing God's wrath to make us His own. As believers, that is the only thing we have to boast about. Therefore, seeking out a wounded brother or sister, putting our arms around them, and limping with them back to the cross is an act of Love that will cause the world to take notice, hell to shudder, and heaven to rejoice.
