Close1 Corinthians 13 is often referred to as the Love Chapter. Paul juxtaposes spiritual gifts, noble deeds, and Biblical knowledge next to God's love and summarily dismisses them as annoying distractions whenever engaged without the most excellent endowment of all. So what does God's love, Agape in the Greek, look like? Paul defines love with poetic majesty while detailing its qualities, actions, and eternal ramifications. Of course we see all the attributes of this love personified in Jesus our Lord with the ultimate manifestation being His death on the cross for us. Whenever we experience God's love personally, truly encounter it, we catch a glimpse beyond the dim mirror and dark glass. And whenever God enables us to demonstrate His love to others, there's no telling just how deep and wide the impact will be.
