God's House is Made of Living Stones

1 Peter 2:4-5 says: "As you come to Him, a Living Stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." (ESV) The ultimate temple is not one built by men but by God. That temple is us, built on the foundation of Christ Himself. He was the original Living Stone and we are the living stones being built upon Him, formed into a spiritual house of worship. The Church is not some manmade organization like the Antelope Lodge. The Church is the dwelling place of God the Spirit; it was founded by Christ; He refers to Her as His Bride; He purchased Her with His shed blood. Be wary of those who put the bad mouth on Jesus' beloved Wife! 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 is an apt summation: "Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple." (NLT) A diminished view of the Church may be a sign of deep deficiencies in the faith you claim to possess. Let's endeavor to see the Church through Christ's eyes and love Her as He does...
