Go and Tell, Come and See

John 1:45-46 says: "Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” (ESV) In other words, Philip goes and tells Nathaniel that the long promised Messiah, the Anointed One, has been found and He hails from the no good town of Nazareth. But upon meeting Jesus personally, Nathaniel immediately discovers it's true. This is the same Son of God whom we believe and commend to each of you. This is the Messiah, the Righteous One, the One who bore our sin, died in our place, rose from the dead, ascended on high, sent His Holy Spirit to dwell within us, Him who rules & reigns from that very throne, prays for us unworthy ones, and has promised to return to raise the dead and consummate His Kingdom. So we declare to you, week after week, the Greatest Treasure in all the universe--Jesus Christ our Lord! Our privileged calling is to tell others of a righteousness better than their own, one that will gain them unending residence in the Kingdom of God! We get to tell them of an irrevocable citizenship in New Jerusalem, purchased for them by the blood of Jesus Christ! We get to go and tell and bid them come and see!
