“Don’t Worry”

“Don’t Worry”

From the confines of a Roman  prison, Paul writes to his beloved brothers and sisters in Christ in the Macedonian city of Philippi.  Still bearing his own Philippian scars from the first church plant in Europe, Paul’s heart is to encourage these dear souls who are suffering persecution and facing difficult times.  In today’s verses, he exhorts them to rejoice, to be anxious for nothing, to pray instead with earnestness and thanksgiving, and to look expectantly for God to grant them His peace.  Besides this being a powerful word from Paul to First Philippi, this is likewise God’s Word to each one of us.
