Crossing The Chasm North of Hades

Crossing The Chasm North of Hades

While Jesus' story about the rich man and Lazarus describes the impassable chasm between Hades and Paradise, this side of death we all face another chasm. The chasm between us and God is just as real and yet this great divide has been crossed. Though we have been born into sin which separates us, Jesus came to die on the Cross to bridge this terrible gulf, making access to God available to us. No human effort could make this possible but God's rich mercy and love, manifested through His faithful Son, demonstrating favor we did not deserve, has bridged the canyon of death and separation. With faith in Christ and Christ alone we cross this chasm forever.
