And This is Love, And Then Some

And This is Love, And Then Some

* Due to technical difficulties, no recorded sermon accompanies this week's message. The sermon notes are linked below.
1 John 4:8-11 says, "Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (ESV) When a person is reborn and God's love comes flooding into their soul, it's not meant to merely pool up inside. It's meant to flow out. God's undeserved love (grace) is transformational. It changes our hearts within, affecting our hearts towards others. Love is the intended result, vertically and horizontally. Love in the byproduct of being called from death to life. Love is the evidence of genuine conversion. We see love it in the incarnation. We see it in the crucifixion. We see it in the resurrection. May those all around us also see it in us!
