God's Steadfast Love and Faithfulness

God's Steadfast Love and Faithfulness

Psalm 117 is the shortest of the 150 Psalms. In fact it's the shortest chapter in the whole Bible. Some believe it may once have been the ending to Psalm 116. Others believe it was the beginning to Psalm 118. But Psalm 117 stands alone and it calls God's people, not just from Israel but all nations, to praise the Lord. From Moses to the minor prophets and throughout the Psalter, we see the summation of God's character exemplified by two things: His steadfast love and faithfulness. And the ultimate way God has demonstrated His steadfast love and faithfulness to us is by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. There is no greater love than this, no greater faithfulness ever displayed. A God Who saves His enemies by the sacrifice of His Beloved Son deserves to be worshipped and extolled above all the universe.
