A Prayer of Moses, the Man of God

In Psalm 90:1-2, Moses prays: "Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God." (ESV) And later in the same Psalm, verses 12-14, Moses continues: "So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Return, O LORD! How long? Have pity on Your servants! Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days." (ESV) Moses wrote those words as many prepared to enter the Promised Land. And he wrote those words as many prepared to die in that desert because they had turned their backs on God. Some were bound for Sinai's dust while others were bound for milk & honey. As we consider Christ and His cross, the place where God's wrath and love meet, the stakes are eternal. Everyone has an eternal destiny but not everyone has the same one. It was on that cross that Jesus absorbed our punishment for sin, for turning our backs on God. And in so doing, mankind witnessed the greatest act of love of all time. Have you been able to grasp that you were the object of that love? Put another way, is this Good News, your Good News?
