After the great victory, the warriors of Israel are soundly defeated at Ai. Why? Our God is both loving and severe. We see this even more vividly as God the Father lovingly gave His only Son, Jesus, to bear our sins on a bloody cross, absorbing the wrath we all deserved.

The Apostle John, in his first epistle, talks of the divinity and humanity of Jesus, and he states that a primary message shared by Jesus was that “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” If we are to walk in this light, we must confess that we are sinners in order to receive His forgiveness.
