Many suppose Jesus was poor because He was born in a stable and His first bassinet was a feeding trough. But remember, Joseph was a carpenter and would’ve been earning a fair day’s wage. Jesus was born in a stable because the inn was full, not because Joseph and Mary couldn’t afford the room fee. The One who owned the cattle on a thousand hills chose to be born in a cattle barn.
