Summary

Psalm 32:1-4 says: “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.” (ESV) Initially our psalmist kept quiet about his sins and moral failures but God allowed their concealment to make the man miserable. Then he cried out to God and the blessing of forgiveness and deliverance was lavished upon him. The Lord used agony and affliction to turn the psalmist face towards the Only One who could set him free. Talk about sweet deliverance! Jesus Christ, who bore our sins on the cross, stands ready to be your Strong Deliverer, to forgive you and set you free from all that holds you captive. His hand is on your prison door, ready to yank it open. No other help is coming. Why not call on Him, even now, while He may be found.
