Summary

Jesus could never be accused of being seeker-sensitive. He never watered down the wine. Our Lord personified mercy, compassion, and love but never at the expense of declaring the truth. Jesus Christ is the Good News! He is the Good News because there is bad news–sin and death, judgment and eternal punishment are the lot for all mankind unless The Savior rescues them. According to Jesus Himself, there is no other means of rescue. But since He is the means, none other is necessary. Messages about sin and judgment and hell are not in vogue. Preachers who preach such messages are not popular. Some are disdained. And yet no one talked more about such things than Jesus. God the Father, through the atoning sacrifice of His Son, has made a way for you to escape the horrors foretold by Christ Himself and to live in the eternal bliss of God’s holy presence. The Good News is so very good because it nullifies what otherwise is very dark and ominous news. If for some reason you’ve never been able to internally respond to this Good News with faith, ask God for that gift of faith. Ask Him even now!
