On the Sunday before Passover, Jesus rode into Jerusalem to waving palm branches and a chorus of different sounds–shouts of Hosanna, Messianic declarations, angry murmurs by Jewish leaders, the braying of His donkey, and the bleating of lambs that soon will be sacrificed. But our Lord knows He is the True Passover Lamb who comes to take away the sins of the world. He is the Lamb who will be slain but who will rise again. And as Jesus enters the holy city, He weeps over it. He weeps because they don’t recognize who He truly is; they were “unable to recognize the time of their visitation.” Solomon reminds us there’s a time to be born and a time to die. By the grace of God, we pray for that time in-between, that time of visitation with respect to Jesus. We pray no one misses the time to come to know Him personally, the time where He calls you from death to life, from darkness to light, from eternal separation to everlasting fellowship. When is this time? 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 tells us: “As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For He says, ‘In the time of My favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (NIV) May this be that “Now Time” for you!
