Summary

1 John 3:1-2 says, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.” (ESV) Think about it: God the Father has lavished His love upon us through the redemptive and adoptive work of His Son, Jesus Christ, thus causing us to be numbered among His very own children! And while the realization of all this should flood our hearts with unspeakable joy and deep abiding peace–here and now–it should also instill the glorious hope that upon His return, our graves will be opened wide (as was His) and we will rise up with new bodies, built to last forever! ‘Dem bones really are gonna rise again’ and they’re gonna be far far better bones! This is the promise awaiting all of God’s beloved children!
