Psalm 105:1-3 says, “Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!” (ESV) Let’s consider this passage in light of the New Covenant found in Christ: You were once a spiritual leper, but have been cleansed from your spiritual leprosy. Jesus is why! You were once lost, but now you’re found. Jesus is why! You were once blind but have been made to see. Jesus is why! You were once enslaved to sin but have been set free. Jesus is why! You were once a fatherless spiritual orphan but have been adopted into the Family of God, the Household of Faith, even grafted in as a child of Abraham and made a son or daughter of the Most High God. Jesus is why! You were once under the wrath of God, bound for everlasting torment in the lake of fire, but instead you’ve been graced with everlasting life in heaven and will live and worship in the blissful presence of God forevermore! Jesus is why! Hebrews 13:15 is our rightful response: “Let us give thanks all the time to God through Jesus Christ. Our gift to Him is to give thanks. Our lips should always give thanks to His name.” (NLV) And all God’s children said, Amen
