Summary

Sometimes Jesus spoke to very large crowds. Other times He shared His heart with just the Twelve. Sometimes He comforted hurting people one-on-one while other times He confronted religious leaders for their self-righteousness and hypocrisy. As a result, some marveled while others scoffed. There are people who can ramble on for hours and say nothing. This was not true with Jesus. Our Lord spoke volumes every time He opened His mouth and every word mattered. Encouragement, admonition, warning–all laced with knowledge, wisdom, discernment, understanding, and love. The Apostle John rightly called Jesus, The Word Made Flesh. Some Bible publishers color Jesus’ words in red for good reason–His words are a matter of life and death. Of course all the black words in those sixty-six books matter too–they were pointing to the One who would utter the red ones. Jesus’ red-lettered words symbolize the blood He spilled for us on the cross. No words can adequately describe Love like that. Let’s never stop marveling!
