Psalm 146 is one of the Hallelujah psalms as it begins and ends with the word, Hallelu-Yah, which we translate, Praise the Lord! Its ten verses do not fail to deliver, reminding us that God is our all-powerful, all-knowing, Creator but that He also cares for His children–those oppressed, hungry, disabled, imprisoned, downtrodden, wandering, widowed and orphaned. We worship and serve a God of galaxies and guttersnipes, of molecules and misfits, of the boundless universe and the brokenhearted. God is our help and our hope and that is epitomized, substantiated, and actualized in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He made us, loved us, sought us and bought us, and plans to keep us forever. Is there a word that can express our deepest gratitude for this undeserved favor? How about, Hallelujah!
