The Apostle Paul often used the term, “all things” in his letters. “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in ‘all things’ at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Cor. 9:8) “I can do ‘all things’ through Christ who gives me strength.” (Phil. 4:13) “And we know that for those who love God ‘all things’ work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” (Rom. 8:28) Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul penned the infallible words of God and with gratitude he owned them throughout his life of thorns, trials, and fiery ordeals. Often when seas turn rough and winds shift contrary, we might wonder if God has pulled back His love or His purposes for us have changed or He has left us to fend for ourselves. But Romans 8:32 reiterates the Gospel this way: “He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?” All things? Besides everything achieved by the Cross, we can also be assured God will grant us all things necessary to lovingly and sovereignly get us where He wants us, even conforming us into the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
